Position Summary:

Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific (NIWC Pacific) is looking for a self-directed and motivated individual to join our team as a network test engineer in support of the MQ-25A Stingray unmanned aerial tanker program. Primary work location is at Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific in San Diego, CA with additional ability to perform some aspects of the position remotely. This position requires a DoD Secret clearance and approximately quarterly travel to sponsor labs and aircraft vendor sites.

In this position you will provide engineering and integration support to Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC Pacific) Code 551 to fulfill PMA-268 Unmanned Carrier Aviation (UCA) requirements, focusing on end-to-end testing of router, switch, firewall, and encryptor configurations hosted in the Advanced Networking Tactical System (ANTS) wideband network transport chassis onboard the MQ-25A aircraft. As an ANTS Network Test Engineer, you will be expected to develop test plans, test reports, and test requirements. The aircraft is the Navy’s new unmanned drone, the MQ-25A Stingray, with a primary mission of aerial refueling and a secondary capability to provide Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) all while being launched and recovered from an aircraft carrier.

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Active Security Clearance Required
  • Minimum of 3 years of Network Engineering experience.
  • Must have a Security+, and CCNA/CCNP.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide engineering and test skills which includes determining requirements for test environments, writing test plans, test cases, and test scripts, executing tests, and documenting tests.
  • Write clear, concise documentation for all system patches.
  • Prepare and present reports on to Team Lead, external stakeholders and sponsors during Sprint Reviews.
  • Diagnose and debug faults with Cisco IOS operating system and system hardware components.
  • Travel up to 50% to CONUS sites to support test events.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Naval Information Warfare Systems Command mission.
  • Ability to show strong leadership skills to your team.
  • 3+ years working experience in a DoD, Navy, and/or NAVWAR program or related field.

Position Summary:

As a network engineer on our team, you’ll help the Navy build a reliable network to support Naval operations. You’ll work with subject matter experts, project managers, and commanding officers to learn the strategic goals and operational needs that shape the network requirements. You’ll then plan the acquisition, installation, configuration, and maintenance of the network components. From resolving interoperability issues across platforms, to supporting the acquisition of hardware, you’ll put your hardware and software talents to good use. The Network Engineer will be responsible for planning, design, integration, and installation of complex IP networks. The Network Engineer should be competent in routing, switching, VPNs, and Firewalls and shall provide engineering expertise, to include network design, analysis of alternatives, end-of-life planning, technical documentation, testing, and will be responsible for analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and repairing the network infrastructure and application components.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Active Security Clearance Required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Network Engineering experience in a DoD, Navy, and/or NAVWAR program or related field.
  • Professional-level certifications must meet CSWF IAT Level II at a minimum and must have CCNA or CCNP.
  • Experience with applying STIGs.
  • Knowledge of Riverbed WANX products, Network Management Systems, and tools (SolarWinds, WhatsUp Gold, SNMP, NetFlow), Cisco suite of products (routers and switches), TCP/IP routing technologies, including OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP.

Position Summary:

The OpenShift Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our OpenShift Container Platform infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance of the Navy’s containerized applications.

The OpenShift Engineer shall maintain a secret clearance and be able to work in a hybrid environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience supporting the IT Systems for the DoD or government agency.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience supporting the engineering of DoD Afloat Network systems (CANES, ADNS, ISNS, CENTRIXS, SCI Networks, SUBLAN, and/or COMPOSE).
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience of hands-on experience with OpenShift Container Platform.
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and container technologies.
  • Expertise in Linux administration, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
  • Experience with Agile workflows, such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Experience with implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Experience with DoD System Engineering Processes and preparation and execution of System Engineering Technical Reviews (SETRs).
